Design-for-Assembly (DFA)

Get your boards built faster with Summit’s free DFA service.
Every PCB assembly project is verified by our free design check software before being released to the assembly floor.

How it Works:

Every PCB assembly project is verified by our free design check software before being released to the assembly floor.

While parts are being procured, design data is extracted from your Gerbers, XYRS, and BOM files and used to create a PDF image. Then, our engineering team reviews the design to verify part fit and rotation. Customers are notified if errors are found and given the opportunity to confirm final designs.

This virtual PCB inspection process prevents costly delays, ultimately reducing circuit board assembly time by a full week, on average.

Common Errors Caught

  • Missing Polarity Markings
  • Part Rotation
  • Package to Footprint Fit
  • Part Spacing
  • BOM and XYRS Comparison

Catch Assembly Errors Before They Cost You Time and Money

Summit’s DFA software generate a virtual image of your board from actual design files to verify “form and fit” before a single board is built. Download this article to learn more about our virtual assembly process.

Summit performs a similar check on fabrication files.
