Process Engineer

Summit Schaumburg, IL has a current open position for a 1st shift Process Engineer. Summit Interconnect is a manufacturer of advanced technology printed circuit boards with a specific focus on complex rigid and rigid-flex product with unique expertise in RF/Microwave applications.

Qualifications: To perform this job successfully, an individual must have a minimum of five (5) years’ in the printed circuit board industry and must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactory. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required.

Responsibilities:

  1. Provide technical support to manufacturing as required.
  2. Oversee projects and meet realistic goals set forth by the Process Engineering Manager. This is a “hands on” position.
  3. Develop and document chemical processes and chemical controls as directed by the Process Engineering Manager.
  4. Establish test methods, perform evaluations, and analyze results to assess existing and future technologies, products, and services.
  5. Perform tasks and implement processes & procedures assigned by management.
  6. Provide technical input and informed judgment to the disposition of discrepant material/ product.
  7. Participate in the Mentor program to promote employee development and growth.
  8. Monitor and evaluate the performance, efficiency, and effectiveness of established processes and procedures.

General Performance Criteria:

  1. Process and product yields.
  2. Process control implementation.
  3. Effectiveness of line support.
  4. Accuracy of all procedures.
  5. Effectiveness in solving process problems.
  6. Communication and documentation of process activities.
  7. Amount of continuous improvement achieved.

Education/ Qualifications:

  1.  Four Year Degree in Science or Chemistry field preferred.
  2. Minimum five (5) years’ experience in printed circuit board processes.
  3. Broad based experience in all aspects of multilayer PWB manufacturing.
  4. Ability to recognize and assess process technology requirements and develop strategic plans for integration.
  5. Excellent oral and written skills.
  6. Ability to interface in a positive manner with co-workers at all levels.
